Dr. Anton Titov, MD. Hello from London! We are with Dr. Francesca Cordeiro. She is Professor of Retinal Neurodegeneration and Glaucoma Studies at the Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London. Prof. Cordeiro is Honorary Glaucoma Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Western Eye Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London. Dr. M. Francesca Cordeiro, MD is Director of the Clinical Trials Research Unit. Prof. Cordeiro graduated from St. Bartholomew Hospital Medical School at University of London. She completed training in general and surgical ophthalmology at Moorfield's Eye & St. Thomas' Hospitals in London. Dr. M. Francesca Cordeiro, MD also did her PhD at the University College London. Prof. Cordeiro's research is focused on origins and treatment of retinal neurodegenerative diseases. Her research includes glaucoma, Alzheimer's, macular degeneration, retinal detachment and diabetes. She has established new methods of early diagnosis of these diseases. Her goal is to avoid disability and identify early markers in neurodegenerative diseases. Prof. Cordeiro received many awards for her work. Her awards are Research to Prevent Blindness International Research Scholar Award USA 2014, an Allergan Glaucoma Achievement Award in 2010, the Lewis Rudin Glaucoma Prize in 2005, from the New York Academy of Medicine, 2000 International Glaucoma Review Award.
