Because when people are overweight there's a higher blood volume. There's more blood flow coming into the heart every time. There's going to be some tendency for the heart to stretch. When people are overweight, they tend to have more high blood pressure. This means a heart is going to overwork. Heart muscle can become thicker. Being overweight leads to diabetes.
