Dr. Anton Titov, MD. Good day from San Francisco, California. Today we are with Dr. Philip Theodosopoulos, MD. He is Director of Skull Base Tumor Program. He is a Professor and Vice Chairman of Neurological Surgery at Neurological Surgery at the University of California San Francisco, UCSF. Dr. Philip Theodosopoulos, MD, came to UCSF from University of Cincinnati. He was a Neurosurgery Residency Program Director and the Director of Skull Base Surgery program for 10 years in Cincinnati. Dr. Anton Titov, MD. Dr. Philip Theodosopoulos, MD, was born into Thessaloniki, Greece. He did his undergraduate studies at MIT and he obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree at Stanford University. Dr. Philip Theodosopoulos completed his neurosurgery training at UCSF. He also completed a fellowship in cerebrovascular and skull base neurosurgery at Harvard's Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston under the direction of Dr. Arthur L. Day. Primary clinical interest of Dr. Theodosopoulos involves treatment of skull base lesions, particularly acoustic neuromas and malignant tumors. Dr. Philip Theodosopoulos, MD, is also interested in minimally invasive neurosurgery treatment to the skull base. He is a pioneer in new surgical approaches to the skull base tumor treatment. Dr. Philip Theodosopoulos, MD, served as co-principal investigator for the largest clinical trial of surgical treatment for acoustic neuromas. He serves on the Acoustic Neuroma Association's medical advisory board. He also has extensive expertise in research on patient outcomes (results of treatment). Dr. Philip Theodosopoulos, MD, is formally trained in outcomes research and clinical epidemiology. He continues to lead surgical complications and treatment results research. Dr. Philip Theodosopoulos designed and taught more than 50 national and international neurosurgical educational courses. He published over 100 research and clinical articles on brain tumor treatment, neurosurgical micro anatomy research, results of neurosurgical operations, and analysis of complications in neurosurgery.
