Hello! Dr. Anton Titov, MD. We are joined by Dr. Paul M. Matthews, who is in London. He is Chair of Translational Neuroscience and Therapeutics. He is Head of Division of Brain Sciences in the Department of Medicine and Professor of Clinical Neuroscience at Imperial College London. Professor Matthews is Chair of the MRC Neurosciences and Mental Health Board. Dr. Paul M. Matthews is a Visiting Professor in the University of Oxford, McGill University, and Nanyang University's LKC School of Medicine. Dr. Matthews was also a founding Director of two internationally leading research imaging centers. He founded and led the University of Oxford Centre for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain, and GlaxoSmithKline's Clinical Imaging Center. Dr. Paul M. Matthews was also a Vice President at GlaxoSmithKline's Discovery & Development Program. Dr. Paul M. Matthews did his medical training at University of Oxford and Stanford University. He had training in neurology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He then returned to Oxford University to establish and lead Center for Functional MRI of the Brain. Dr. Paul M. Matthews focuses his research on translational applications of clinical imaging in neurosciences and the new therapeutics' development. Dr. Paul M. Matthews have focused specifically on characterization of inflammatory neurodegeneration in multiple sclerosis. Dr. Matthews published over 400 scientific articles in neuroscience. Dr. Paul M. Matthews is a recipient of many awards, including Order of the British Empire, OBE, in 2008 for services to Neuroscience. Dr. Paul M. Matthews was elected to Academy of Medical Sciences in 2014.
