Dr. Peng Roc Chen, MD, is Associate Professor, Department of Neurosurgery, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He is also the current Director of the Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Program, Skull Base Program and Cerebrovascular/ Endovascular Fellowship. Dr. Peng Roc Chen received medical degree from Sun Yat-Sen University Medical School It is one of the top- ranked universities in China. He then worked for over 7 years as a neurosurgeon in First Affiliated Hospital in Guangzhou, China. He continued his surgical practice first in Detroit and then at Neurosurgery residency program at Harvard University’s Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston and at Boston Children’s Hospital. To further advance his training, Dr. Peng Roc Chen also completed a series of fellowships, including in Neuro-interventional Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, in Cerebrovascular/Skull Base at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, and in Neuro-interventional Radiology and Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Chen’s clinical and research interests are at the intersection of neuro-endovascular methods and open brain surgery to treat vascular brain problems, such as carotid, vertebral, and intracerebral occlusive disease, and also brain aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations. Dr. Peng Roc Chen, MD is an active contributor to most neurosurgical and neurological peer-reviewed journals in the US, and principal investigator at many clinical trials that push forward the boundaries of treatment of neurological and neurosurgical diseases.
