We are in the office of Dr. Lawrence H. Cohn, MD, a pioneering cardiac surgeon, researcher, and medical educator. Dr. Lawrence H. Cohn, MD has been on the surgical staff at Harvard Medical School since 1971. He has been a professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School since 1980.

In 2000, Dr. Cohn was awarded the first endowed chair in cardiac surgery at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Cohn is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and Stanford University, where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree with distinction.

He did his graduate medical training at Boston City Hospital, the National Heart Institute in Bethesda, Maryland, and the University of California in San Francisco. Dr. Lawrence H. Cohn, MD also worked at Stanford University with the renowned cardiac surgeon Dr. Norman Shumway.

Dr. Lawrence H. Cohn, MD performed more than 12,000 heart operations over 40 years of his surgical practice. Dr. Cohn focused his attention on heart valve surgery and minimally invasive heart surgery.
