Dr. Saad Omer, Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Yale School of Medicine, and the Susan Dwight Bliss Professor of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at Yale School of Public Health. Dr. Saad Omer is Director, Yale Institute for Global Health. He is also Associate Dean of Global Health Research at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Omer has published widely in leading medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Lancet, Pediatrics, British Medical Journal, Science, and Nature. He has written articles in the New York Times, Politico, and The Washington Post.

Dr. Omer, hello, and welcome to our expert conversations! My pleasure. It’s good to be here. Let me first briefly review your stellar education and career. Dr. Saad Omer obtained his medical degree from The Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He also received a Master in Public Health and a Ph.D. in Global Disease Epidemiology and International Health from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. Dr. Saad Omer has conducted studies in public health and vaccination on five continents. His work formed the basis of clinical practice and health legislation in several countries. Dr. Saad Omer received multiple awards and directly mentored over 100 junior faculty and graduate students. Dr. Omer has over 335 peer-reviewed publications in international medical journals.
