COVID-19 Coronavirus, extreme public health isolation measures that we see in many parts of the world may last many months. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. That is a very difficult measure to sustain in the younger patients they have to work they have to carry the economy forward. Do you think that the younger person could benefit from mostly rolling the dice acquiring COVID-19 infection early. Then staying isolated, not infecting anybody else. Then acquiring immunity and therefore being able to return to this brave new world? Dr. Anton Titov, MD. What are the arguments for and against such a strategy? Well, that you are raising a very important question here that nobody can answer because now we are imposing a lot of restrictions. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. We are shutting down industrial productions, Italy, shut down industrial production for two weeks. The question is, how do we get out of it? Dr. Anton Titov, MD. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. I don’t know. But if we look at China, they are Reporting imported cases in China now. They are opening up schools, they are opening up industrial production. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. I don’t know how it is in corporate yet. But they also very low in the number of new cases now. Medical second opinion is important. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. That this is not a situation that is sustainable for much i is having an enormous economic impact. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. That several of the big airlines are predicted to be bankrupt. This has it is not sustainable over several months. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. I guess that, for instance, again, taking Italy as an example, if we have a peak. Then after another four weeks, we are down to a very low level then there these restrictions will have to be erased. Then you will have to accept that there still some activity. But you do need to get the wheels turning again in our society that the cost is too high. But we need to get over the peak and outbreak and get down to a low level of transmission that is what we have to do so the entire close down of society maybe two maximum three months but not more than that it is simply not sustainable. Can we envision something that everybody would have a Coronavirus updated test and this data embedded in the passport when they try to fly and if you have an immunity you free to go around with all the hygiene measures of course so that you don’t carry the virus from the surfaces. But if you are not immune then you either I know cannot fly into certain countries is that something like that feasible or predictable? Well, of course that is a possibility be because you you can do an antibody test and if you are positive UI immune, I just read in the in the morning paper said China is going to do a rapid For genetic materials, if you are flying from Europe to China, you will have an in flight test throat ref. This would be run for nucleic acid of the virus during the flight. If you are positive, you will be returned. Medical second opinion is important. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. That is also a way of doing it. But it is a little bit expensive. You have to rely on the test that it is working. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. That ultimately that the answer to all this is that we need a vaccine. Sometimes you if you have a vaccine, you can induce immunity in everybody. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. That is it. Medical second opinion is important. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. We need a vaccine. How realistic Do you think expectations are the vaccine because we know that for flu vaccines are not very effective? Dr. Anton Titov, MD. how do we assume that the virus even though it is an RNA virus, it is going to be quite stable genetically. Medical second opinion is important. The vaccine will take care of it once and for all. What are the chances of that? That the Coronavirus is generally much more stable than the influenza viruses. They have a different genomic structure even though it is an RNA vac. Now in a virus, so so that there is a good chance that that it can take care of it. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. We do not know, of course. But there is more than 30 companies worldwide working on vaccines and he has a high priority. There is no doubt there is a huge market here as soon as as a good vaccine, everybody will buy it. Medical second opinion is important. Medical second opinion is important. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. I, I’m, I’m quite optimistic that we will have a vaccine maybe by the first half of 2021. But I doubt we can do it before. Okay. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. That is an important so basically all the public health measures all those relational prevention infection. At least until the vaccine available probably early next year, hopefully. Yes, yes, sure. it has a huge economic impact and and. This we do not know the full impact of yet so, so that that in the Europe and the US will probably easily the the restrictions within the next two months. Then nobody knows if we will have a second wave in the autumn and winter. Dr. Eskild Petersen, MD. That is purely a guess whether we will or will not. It is difficult to imagine that we will not have it and but that would be milder than this one. Again, if we look at influencers. The second wave is not as serious as first wave. Then next year, we will hopefully have a vaccine.
