Hello from New York! Dr. Benjamin Cowling. We are with Dr. Benjamin Cowling, who is Hong Kong. Dr. Cowling is Professor and Head of the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Hong Kong University and co-director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Control at Hong Kong University. Dr. Benjamin Cowling obtained his PhD in medical statistics at the University of Warwick in the UK. He then did a fellowship at Imperial College London. Clinical and research interests of Dr. Benjamin Cowling include infectious disease epidemiology and in particular, spread of influenza in the community and methods to control airborne viral respiratory diseases, including SARS and COVID-19 coronavirus. Professor Ben Cowling has strong links with China CDC. Harvard Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics. Professor Benjamin Cowling is a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and a Fellow of the UK Faculty of Public Health. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses. An Associate Editor of Emerging Infectious Diseases. Professor Ben Cowling has received numerous awards including a Croucher Senior Research Fellowship, Hong Kong University Outstanding Researcher Award. American Journal of Epidemiology Article of the Year 2014. Dr. Benjamin Cowling has authored and co-authored over 400 peer-reviewed publications in international medical journals and presented numerous talks at international conferences on viral respiratory disease and other communicable infectious diseases, including COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
